Types of yoga:

Anusara (a-nu-sar-a): “flowing with Grace,” “flowing with Nature,” “following your heart.”
A relatively new form of yoga (founded in 1997). Started by John Friend, Anusara yoga is a heart-oriented, spiritually inspiring.

Anusara pairs strict principles of alignment with playful spirit. In class expect long holds with detailed attention. It is a biomechanically integrated approach to self-discovery. A great class for alignment and understanding where your body needs to be and a road map to get there.

Restorative/Deep Stretch: active relaxation
By supporting the body with props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body to move toward balance. No experience in yoga is needed to join this class! Come and enjoy nurturing hands-on assists that move you towards a peaceful replenishment of body and spirit. You will return to your day refreshed and renewed. Great for athletes, folks who are stressed and newbies.

Vinyasa (vin-yaah-sa): breath-synchronized movement
(aka flow or power)

Links breath to movement and consists of a flowing series of poses using the practitioner’s natural breath as a guide. Movement is continuous and the focus is on aligning movement with breath rather than on perfecting each posture. The sun salutation is one well known vinyasa series. A great class for sweating and learning to let go of ones expectations.
